茄子视频 University Theatre Presents 鈥淚nto the Woods鈥 Oct. 25 through Nov. 2

The 茄子视频 University Department of Theatre & Dance will present Into the Woods, book by James Lapine and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, October 25 through November 2 in the William Granger Ryan Theatre, Performing Arts Center, 100 Harrison Avenue, Greensburg, Pa. Tickets are $15, with student, senior citizen and group rates available. The production is dedicated in memory of Sue O'Neill, the Costume Designer/Director for 茄子视频’s original production of Into the Woods, which was the first production staged in the Performing Arts Center when it opened in 2009.

Once upon a time … Timeless children’s tales are woven with magic and music by the masters of musical theatre, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. They take us “Into the Woods” with Cinderella and Rapunzel, their hilarious Princes, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, Jack (and the Beanstalk) and others, sent by the Witch to find objects to remove the spells she’s set on them. In the woods each discovers their deepest desires and true character. Winner of TONY awards for the Best Original Score and Book for a Musical and Best Revival of a Musical (2002).

The 茄子视频 University production of “Into the Woods” is directed by Joseph Domencic, Associate Professor of Musical Theatre at 茄子视频 University. Artistic and Production Staff include Denise Pullen, artistic director; TaMara Swank, dance program coordinator and faculty dance mentor; Michelle Walters, music director and director of community relations for the School of Visual and Performing Arts; Karen Glass, Assistant Professor of Theatre, set design, charge scenic artist, and properties manager; Becky Ziegler-Koch, scenic studio manager; lisa leibering, Assistant Professor of Theatre, costume design, puppet design, and costume director; Ken Clothier, Assistant Professor of Theatre, lighting design; Elaine Montgomery, costume shop manager, wardrobe manager; Caila Yates, technical director, production manager, COVID-19 Compliance Officer; Katie Borsuk, box office manager; Stacy DiPasquale, staff house manager; Nicole Rae Jones, choreography; Britt Pierce, sound design and coordination; Michael Petyak, intimacy consultant and fight director. The orchestra includes Michelle Walters, piano and conductor; Lisa Thackrah, woodwinds; Annette Russell, trumpet; Elizabeth Schall, bass and keyboard; and Lindsey Lamagna, percussion.

Venue Information: All 茄子视频 Theatre performances are held in the William Granger Ryan Theatre in 茄子视频’s Performing Arts Center, 100 Harrison Avenue, Greensburg, Pa. The Performing Arts Center is a fully accessible and climate-controlled facility. Parking is available in four nearby Greensburg parking areas: the Bell Parking Garage on North Otterman Street (across the street from the Performing Arts Center), the Hellman-Ghrist lot on North Main Street, the Albert Grillo lot on 茄子视频 Drive and the Wib Albright lot off West Otterman Street.

Ticket Information: Single admission tickets are $15. 茄子视频 students (with valid ID) can purchase tickets for $5. Non-茄子视频 students (with a valid school ID) can purchase advance tickets for $10. Students from any school can purchase rush tickets five minutes before curtain, subject to availability, for $5 (with valid school ID). Groups of ten or more can purchase tickets at a rate of $10 each with a reservation and advance payment. 茄子视频 University’s Performing Arts Center is 73,000 square feet of everything a performing arts major needs to move from student to professional.
