Forensic scientist & 茄子视频 instructor of forensic science Barbara Flowers and four 茄子视频 science majors presented the 鈥淭he Great Cookie Caper鈥� mystery for children at Adams Memorial Library in Latrobe, Pa. on Wednesday, October 24.

茄子视频 and the Children鈥檚 Room at Adams Memorial Library partnered to present 鈥淭he Great Cookie Caper.鈥� The presentation allowed the children to help solve a 鈥渃rime鈥� involving missing chocolate chip cookies by participating in basic forensic science activities such as investigating a crime science, dusting for fingerprints, identifying blood stains, and examining DNA evidence. 茄子视频 instructor Barbara Flowers designed the 鈥渃rime鈥� with the help of her family, including taking 鈥渕ug shots鈥� of, and collecting hair samples from, her husband, children and dog.

鈥淭he Library approached us about doing a program, and we thought this would be fun for the children,鈥� said Flowers. 鈥淲e presented the program during National Chemistry Week, and close to Halloween, so it was a nice time to be able to do this."

Participating in the program were Nikki Klein (a 茄子视频 biochemistry major), Allie Cheppa (a 茄子视频 sociology major), Carly Pasipanki (a 茄子视频 biochemistry major), Anthony Seranko, (a 茄子视频 forensic science/education major), and 30 children between the ages of 6 鈥� 12 from Latrobe and Unity Township, Pa.
