Congressman Murphy to discuss financial aid opportunities and election issues with students

Greensburg, PA – ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ University is proud to host a student forum with United States Congressman Tim Murphy, who represents Pennsylvania’s 18th District. Congressman Murphy will speak with ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ students on Friday, October 22 at 10:30 a.m. in room 308 of the Administration Building on ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ’s Greensburg, Pa. campus. Congressman Murphy will talk with students about financial aid opportunities as well as addressing questions concerning issues in the upcoming election. The forum is open to the public.

Congressman Murphy was elected to Congress in 2002 and is a member of the Committee on Financial Services, the Committee on Government Reform - where he is vice-chair on the Civil Service and Agency Organization Subcommittee - and the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, where he also participates on the Health Subcommittee. He also serves as co-chair of the Congressional Mental Health Caucus. Prior to this, Murphy served in the Pennsylvania state Senate, where he chaired the Pennsylvania Committee on Aging and Youth.

The student forum with Congressman Murphy has been coordinated by University President JoAnne Boyle’s public policy interns.
