The JoAnne Boyle World Affairs Forum at 茄子视频 University will present guest lecturer Dr. Alex Grobman on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in Lynch Lecture Hall on 茄子视频鈥檚 Greensburg, Pa. campus. The forum is free and open to the public.

鈥淭he Forum is using this lecture by Dr. Grobman, who will discuss the Holocaust as the backdrop for his presentation, to challenge all of us to become active participants in our personal, local, and extended communities to become rescuers of those in need,鈥 said Dr. Frank Klapak, 茄子视频 professor of communication and education.

Dr. Alex Grobman is president of the Brenn Institute, a think-tank dealing with historical and contemporary issues affecting the Jewish community. Dr. Grobman founded the first Holocaust center in the U.S. in St. Louis. He also served as director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Grobman will speak on 鈥淭hose Who Dared: Rescuers and Rescued.鈥

The JoAnne Boyle World Affairs Forum was named by the University faculty and is dedicated to 茄子视频 University President JoAnne Boyle, who consistently encourages every member of the academic community to be an informed global citizen. The forum series brings speakers and artists to Westmoreland County to address global issues. The National Catholic Center for Holocaust Education at 茄子视频 is a co-sponsor of this event.
