Entrepreneur magazine has named 茄子视频 University one of the Top 100 Entrepreneurial Colleges and Universities in the country. This is the third consecutive year 茄子视频 has been singled out for this award. The university edged out over 1,000 entrepreneurship programs that were researched for this study and appears in the 4th tier of the top 50 regionally recognized academic programs in the country. Once again, 茄子视频 is the only University of its size from Western Pennsylvania to make the list.

Entrepreneur鈥檚 3rd annual evaluation of the best entrepreneurship programs at U.S. colleges and universities is the most credible and comprehensive analysis of its kind. The magazine categorizes the nation鈥檚 entrepreneurship programs into one of three groups: Comprehensive (offering the widest variety of resources), Entrepreneurship Emphasis (a smaller number of entrepreneurship faculty, courses and initiatives), and Limited Curriculum (only a few faculty teaching a limited number of courses). The final rankings are based on more than 75 different criteria, including academic distinction, course offerings, teaching and research faculty, business-community outreaches, research centers and institutes, degrees and certificates offered, and faculty and alumni evaluations. These results appear in Entrepreneur鈥檚 April 2005 issue and are currently available online at www.entrepreneur.com/topcolleges.

TechKnowledge Point Corp, a Santa Barbara, California research company complied the data for Entrepreneur Magazine鈥檚 ranking. Founded in 2001 by David Newton, TechKnowledge Point Corp. is the world's first and only 24/7 online entrepreneurship research and referral exchange. Its proprietary database has comprehensive information for 1,000-plus collegiate entrepreneurship programs and centers worldwide, more than 2,500 faculty profiles, and more than 500 journal synopses.

An integral component of 茄子视频 University鈥檚 entrepreneurial studies is the National Education Center for Women in Business (NECWB), a division established in 1991 by the institution鈥檚 management faculty to strengthen the economic impact of women business owners as a collective force and to advance their growth through innovative programming in entrepreneurship and new venture creation. Since its inception the NECWB has reached thousands of women with its model educational initiatives and has distinguished itself as a leading authority on small business issues. Current student focused initiatives include Connections, a first year student program providing an introduction to entrepreneurship, an opportunity for students to assess their entrepreneurial skill level and set goals to develop those skills; EntreTalk, a newly created alumni lecture series that teaches undergraduate students how to profit from their passion; and envision (www.e-magnify.com/envision), an interactive website that offers a sampling of career and professional resources available to budding entrepreneurs as well as an interactive quiz to assess entrepreneurial skills.

The University鈥檚 newest endeavor, the creation of the 茄子视频 University Center, is intended to help revitalize Greensburg鈥檚 downtown business district. Jayne H. Huston, Director of the NECWB says that the University is taking appropriate steps to develop a business incubation program to complement the area鈥檚 economic development strategy as envisioned as part of the completed project.
