Greensburg, PA 鈥 Two 茄子视频 Hospitality and Tourism majors, Junior Jennifer Byers and Senior Aimee St. Clair, were recently invited to participate as student honor delegates in the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation鈥檚 Salute to Excellence Student Forum in Chicago. The Salute to Excellence Forum brings national hospitality, restaurant and foodservice industry leaders together with promising students and top educators. As participants in the Forum, Byers and St. Clair attended workshops, forums, gala events and career fairs sponsored and facilitated by representatives from, among others, Coca-Cola, Diners Club International, Tyson Foods and Disney.

鈥淏oth Jennifer and Aimee are exceptional students,鈥 said Richard Mills, Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Tourism, who nominated both students for inclusion in the Forum. 鈥淚n addition to excelling in the classroom, both young women have worked with local industry entrepreneurs through the National Education Center for Women in Business. 茄子视频 couldn鈥檛 have been better represented at the Forum.鈥

The Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism at 茄子视频 incorporates a core liberal arts curriculum with specialized training in the field of hospitality and tourism. Students in the Hospitality and Tourism program complete a minimum 360 hours of externship (9 credits) in addition to 280 hours of directed study with a hospitality/tourism field supervisor. The program emphasizes the use of historical sites and cultural as well as geographic resources in the promotion of the Western Pennsylvania region.
