Second Annual Women of the Hill Golf Outing a Success
On August 21, 茄子视频 University hosted the second annual Women of the Hill Golf Outing. Sponsored by the 茄子视频 University鈥檚 women鈥檚 basketball team and women鈥檚 golf team, more than 100 guests gathered to support the student-athletes at The Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pa. Donors, parents of the athletes, friends of 茄子视频 and athletic alumni participated in or sponsored the event. 茄子视频 University鈥檚 Director of Corporate and Community Relations Kris Smith noted that athletic support, detailed planning and strong committees made their outing a success.
鈥淭he fundraiser allowed our parents and friends to interact informally as well as cooperatively to take part in staffing various booths and competitive stations before, during and after the event,鈥� said Carolyn Thompson, head women鈥檚 golf coach.
鈥淚t was a great day with Hall of Fame participates and supporters of both programs. This event helped raise money for our student athletes to train and travel this season,鈥� stated Ferne Labati, head women's basketball coach.
All proceeds and donations will support the women鈥檚 basketball and golf teams for travel, competition, programs, facilities and equipment. Smith noted, 鈥淚t was a lot of hard work, but Sunday evening, after the event was finished, we knew it was well worth the labor. Everyone鈥檚 hard work supports the student-athletes, and we are proud to see the success.鈥�
