Bryan Woodfork considered himself extremely lucky to land a coveted internship with the just before graduating from 茄子视频 University in May 2013.

But the experience got even better as the season has led the team 鈥 and Woodfork 鈥 to at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Feb. 2.

鈥淚t鈥檚 truly unbelievable,鈥 Woodfork, 22, a Pittsburgh native and Brashear High School graduate, said. 鈥淲hen we won (the NFC Championship game) and the confetti was coming down, it was pretty surreal. This is the greatest time in the world to be here.鈥

Woodfork, who graduated from 茄子视频 with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in and a minor in Business, is a Fan Development and Community Outreach Intern for the and the , which is part of .

His job entails planning a number of community activities, including school visits, events that encourage youth exercise and physical fitness, and events involving the Kids Club.

And during this NFL playoff season, he鈥檚 been planning many fan rallies for the .

鈥淣o day is ever the same,鈥 Woodfork said. 鈥淚t makes the job interesting, and it makes it fun to go to work every day.鈥

Woodfork also works on preparing game day presentations. During the NFC Championship game on Jan. 19, Woodfork was in charge of the stage that would be used if the San Francisco 49ers won.

鈥淭he best feeling I had was when I said, 鈥榊ou can take the stage out of their locker room,鈥欌 Woodfork said.

As a Pittsburgh native, Woodfork said he鈥檚 a fan first. So he鈥檚 taken some ribbing from fans still upset about their team鈥檚 loss to the Steelers in Super Bowl XL in 2006.

Woodfork said Seattle fans are very supportive of their team and really are the 鈥12th Man鈥 that they claim to be.

鈥淭ruly their stadium is the loudest stadium I鈥檝e ever been in,鈥 he said. 鈥淣o matter who you鈥檙e a fan of, I would suggest everybody come to at least one 驳补尘别.鈥

Woodfork said his whole internship experience 鈥 even without the trip to the Super Bowl 鈥 has been very educational.

鈥(罢丑别 ) truly take care of players and all of the staff,鈥 he said. 鈥淭hey appreciate us as much as the players.鈥

Robert Zullo, associate professor of at 茄子视频, said Woodfork鈥檚 success after graduation isn鈥檛 surprising.

鈥淗e embraced everything we put in front of him as a student,鈥 Zullo said. 鈥淗e was a Resident Assistant, created his own basketball tournament to support the United Way, and volunteered relentlessly within the City of Pittsburgh. He also wasn't hesitant to move across the country to pursue this opportunity. He's an example others in our major can emulate.鈥

Woodfork said he would like to land a full-time job with an NFL team and, at some point, he鈥檇 love to enter the coaching field. He played football at Brashear and during his freshman year at 茄子视频, but an injury ended his playing days.

For now, he鈥檚 got a lot of work to do leading up to the Super Bowl.

鈥淚t鈥檚 just pedal to the metal now,鈥 Woodfork said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e going full force in getting stuff ready. Go Hawks!鈥
