George A. and Christine Romero are executive producers for the series and Jeff Monahan, through his company, 72nd St. Films, will write, direct and produce the story, 鈥淥n Sabbath Hill,鈥� that will be filmed on 茄子视频鈥檚 Greensburg Pa. campus during the week of December 3, 2007.

According to Dr. Terry Brino-Dean, director of 茄子视频鈥檚 theatre program, the on-campus filming presents students with a wonderful opportunity, 鈥淛eff Monahan taught at 茄子视频 during former theatre directors Iva and Gene Saraceni鈥檚 tenure and he remains impressed by the high quality of our theatre program. He remains a good friend to our students, faculty and alumni. Through this project our students will see first hand how a small production company operates and learn the unique challenges faced on location shoots.鈥� Brino-Dean added, 鈥淛eff鈥檚 project helps bring more attention to the 茄子视频 theatre program overall. This is particularly exciting as we prepare for our new University Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Greensburg.鈥�

鈥淒eadtime Stories鈥� was cast at The Docherty Agency in Pittsburgh, Pa. The 鈥淥n Sabbath Hill鈥� cast includes John Romualdi. 茄子视频 theatre students, and interested faculty and staff, will participate in the film as extras.

Jeff Monahan commented, 鈥淚 am delighted to return to 茄子视频 to film a feature for 鈥楧eadtime Stories.鈥� I actually wrote the piece with the University鈥檚 campus in mind and I look forward to working with theatre students and faculty on what promises to be an interesting production.鈥�

Various locations were selected for the film including 茄子视频鈥檚 historic classrooms, residence halls and building exteriors.

Jeff Monahan Biography: Jeff Monahan began his career as a police officer, attending Penn State University, and graduating at the top of his class from the Pennsylvania State Police Municipal Training Officers Academy. After moving from uniform into the detective division and being recognized for his undercover work, he decided to retire from the force and turn to his first love, acting. Now a professional actor with his own production company, 72nd St. Films, Monahan is a member of the Screen Actor鈥檚 Guild, the Writers Guild of America, the Actors Equity Association, and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. In New York, Monahan studied for two years with theatre legend Robert (Bobby) Lewis. Lewis鈥� former students include Marlon Brando, James Dean, Henry Winkler, Sally Field, Sigourney Weaver and Meryl Streep. Monahan鈥檚 film roles include Stephen King鈥檚 鈥淭he Dark Half鈥� and John Sayles鈥� 鈥淟one Star.鈥� His network television roles include 鈥淏et Your Life鈥� on NBC and 鈥淭he War that Made America鈥� on PBS. Monahan has directed a number of theatre productions including Noel Coward鈥檚 鈥淧rivate Lives,鈥� and the north American premiere of 鈥淔ive Blue Haired Ladies Sitting on a Green Park Bench,鈥� starring Carol Cleveland of Monty Python. Jeff Monahan has taught screenwriting, acting technique, and film production at Carnegie Mellon University, 茄子视频 University, The Pittsburgh Filmmakers, The State Theatre Center for the Performing Arts, and New York University. Monahan currently teaches at Chatham University in Pittsburgh.

The 茄子视频 University Center for the Performing Arts will bring two of 茄子视频鈥檚 most vibrant programs 鈥� theatre and music 鈥� into the heart of the city of Greensburg, Pa. The Center - designed by MacLachlan Cornelius & Filoni Architects, Inc. to complement the historic architecture of the surrounding buildings - will also serve as the completing piece of Greensburg鈥檚 Cultural District, with the Westmoreland Museum of American Art at one corner and 茄子视频 University at the other, linked by the historic Palace Theatre, the restored Greensburg Train Station, cafes, restaurants and bookstores. Once completed, the 73,000 square foot center will include a flexible theatre, music hall, rehearsal spaces, set and costume design rooms, classrooms, and faculty offices for 茄子视频鈥檚 programs in music and theatre. The University Center project is the result of a collaboration among the City of Greensburg, the Redevelopment Authority of Westmoreland County, the Greensburg Salem School District, local legislators, and the Westmoreland Cultural Trust. As of November 2007, the University Center for the Performing Arts Campaign, chaired by Michele and Tom Ridge and Anne and Jack Robertshaw, has achieved more than $19.2 million toward its projected $21 million goal. Massaro Corporation began construction in August 2007, with a projected completion date of spring 2009.
