Greensburg, PA – On Martin Luther King, Jr. day students, faculty & staff of ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ "take the day on" instead of taking the day off by volunteering at local human service organizations to help keep Dr. King's commitment to service alive. This year ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ will be working with the Westmoreland Food Bank, Caritas Christi, the Christian Layman Thrift Shop, Welcome Home Homeless Shelter and Clelian Heights. ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ community members will be volunteering with these organizations from 1 – 4 p.m. on January 19.

ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ will also be presenting an educational program commemorating Dr. King for all members of the ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ community titled "Keep the Dream Alive." This presentation, which will take place from 11 - 12:30 on January 22nd in ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ’s Cecilian Hall, will focus on homelessness and Dr. King's commitment to the poor. Mr. Herman Porter, J.D., Adjunct Professor in ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ's MBA program, will give the opening keynote remarks. ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵ Theatre will follow Mr. Porter's remarks with theatrical presentations of and about homelessness.
