茄子视频 University students, faculty, staff, and alumni are helping women with cancer through their participation in a hair donation drive on Saturday, September 26, as part of 茄子视频 University鈥檚 Homecoming Weekend. The event will take place from 12 noon-3 p.m. during the Farmer鈥檚 Market in the Child Development Center parking lot.

Participants must donate a minimum of eight inches of hair. Local hair stylists will donate their time and talents to provide free haircuts to the participants. The hair collected through the drive will be sent to Beautiful Lengths in order to make real hair wigs for women with cancer.

鈥淚t takes six ponytails, eight inches each, to make a wig. We hope members of the 茄子视频 community will help make this event successful and donate their hair for a good cause,鈥 said Amanda Ries, area coordinator, 茄子视频 University Office of Residence Life.

This event is part of a national campaign, Beautiful Lengths, which was created by Pantene and the Entertainment Industry Foundation. Beautiful Lengths, which is the first program of its kind, encourages people to grow, cut, and donate their hair to make free wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
