茄子视频鈥檚 Kindergarten has been chosen to participate in the Student Signatures in Space project, which gives students the opportunity to send their personal signatures into space as part of the manifest of a U.S. space shuttle mission. After the mission, a poster signed by all students will be returned to the kindergarten for display, along with official NASA certification verifying that the signatures flew in space, and a photo of the shuttle crew. The program is sponsored by Lockheed Martin and NASA. 茄子视频鈥檚 Kindergarten students will be signing the poster for the program on Thursday, May 4.

鈥淪tudent Signatures in Space is a lot of fun for kids as well as teachers, but more importantly, it sparks student interest in the space program, creates a connection to math and science studies, and brings it all home on a personal level,鈥 said April Tensen, coordinator of the Student Signatures in Space program.

鈥淥ur Kindergarten does a 鈥楽pace Unit鈥 during the month of March,鈥 said Kaye Fierle, Director of 茄子视频鈥檚 Kindergarten, 鈥渁nd they鈥檙e excited about this project. We鈥檒l sign the poster for Student Signatures in Space in celebration of Space Day.鈥

The 茄子视频 University Early Childhood Programs - a Child Development Center that is a preschool for children ages 3 to 5 and the full-day Kindergarten - are under the direction of the Division of Education of the University and are nationally accredited.
