The contributors discuss how a common meeting ground can be found for both, with the goal of fostering their compatibility and growth.

Dr. Quinlan鈥檚 鈥淎 Complete Guide to Rubrics: Assessment Made Easy for Teachers K-College鈥� (Rowman & Littlefield Education, 2006) provides a practical approach for students, teachers, administrators and parents to assess student learning processes. Citing developmental characteristics of each grade level, 鈥淎 Complete Guide to Rubrics鈥� presents examples and adaptations of assessment rubrics on a variety of subjects. It features examples of teacher-created rubrics, Internet resources, and additional chapters devoted to assessing technological topics, including blogging. It is designed to aid all educators who are required to assess student performance, from kindergarten through the college level.
