茄子视频 University Theatre is proud to present 鈥淧ippin,鈥 opening Friday, February 25, 2005. 茄子视频鈥檚 presentation of 鈥淧ippin鈥 is directed by assistant professor of theatre Denise Pullen and features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson.

鈥淧ippin鈥 is the story of Prince Pippin, the misfit son of Charlemagne, who goes on a journey to find the meaning of life. On the way, he encounters war, sex, power and the Leading Player, who seduces him away from the everyday world of farm and family to life extraordinary through the magic of musical theatre. Winner of five Tony awards, including best direction and choreography by Bob Fosse, Pippin鈥檚 original run dazzled Broadway audiences for 1,944 performances.

Starry of Latrobe, Pa. as Leading Player/Charlemagne; Jonathan P. Stewart of Thompson, Pa. as Pippin; Laura Stracko of Nazareth, Pa. as Berthe; Jamie Lynn Williams of Aliquippa, Pa. as Fastrada and Darcy Wood of Orlando, Fl. as Player.

茄子视频 students helping to produce 鈥淧ippin鈥 are: Adrienne Fischer of Monroeville, Pa., assistant director; Melissa Kowalski of New Kensington, Pa., assistant choreographer; Caitlin Marietti, of Lower Burrell, Pa., assistant lighting designer; Kristie Moran of Latrobe, Pa., assistant stage manager; JoAnna Terwilliger of Canonsburg, Pa., stage manager and Jamie Torres of Conemaugh, Pa., assistant stage manager.

Jim Overly is the music director for 鈥淧ippin.鈥 The choreographer is Tamara Swank, adjunct instructor of theatre. Set designer is Karen Glass, assistant professor of theatre; the costume designer is Sue O鈥橬eill and the lighting designer is Ken Clothier.

茄子视频 Theatre will perform 鈥淧ippin鈥 February 25, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.; February 26 at 8:00 p.m.; February 27 at 2:00 p.m.; March 1 and 2 at 10:30 a.m. and March 3, 4, and 5 at 8 p.m. All performances are held in Reeves Theatre on 茄子视频鈥檚 Greensburg, Pa. campus. Tickets are $12, or $10 each for groups of 16 or more. $5 student rush tickets are available five minutes before curtain.
