茄子视频 U. Volunteers in Community to Honor Martin Luther King Jr. 2/8
What: 茄子视频 faculty, staff and students will volunteer at seven community organizations as part of the University鈥檚 annual day of community service known as 鈥淭ake the Day On鈥� in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
When: Saturday, February 8, 2014, 8 a.m. 鈥� 12 p.m. Volunteers will arrive at their locations at 9 a.m.
Where: YMCA, 101 S. Maple Ave., Greensburg; Christian Layman Store, 258 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg; St. Emma鈥檚 Monastery, 1001 Harvey Ave., Greensburg; Caritas Christi, 459 Mt. Thor Road, Greensburg; Welcome Home Shelter, 218 S. Maple Ave., Greensburg, Pa.; St. Vincent de Paul Store, 126 S. Main St., Greensburg, Pa.; and Greater Parkview Church, 103 Westminster Ave., Greensburg, Pa.
Background: One of Martin Luther King Jr.鈥檚 favorite questions was, 鈥淲hat are you doing for others?鈥� In keeping with Dr. King鈥檚 commitment to service, the 茄子视频 community will participate in a morning of community service. Because 茄子视频 students did not arrive on campus for the spring semester until after Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the University鈥檚 celebration activities were moved to February.
