Background: 茄子视频 University will break ground later this summer on the Dance and Visual Arts Center, located at the corner of West Otterman Street and College Avenue, one block from the University鈥檚 Performing Arts Center. The Center will house classrooms and rehearsal space for 茄子视频 students studying visual arts and dance, allowing them to build an artistic community under one roof. It will also serve as the rehearsal space for members of the community who are studying dance through the 茄子视频 University Dance Academy.

The 46,000 square-foot Center was designed by designLab Architects of Boston, Mass. and Balog, Steines, Hendricks, & Manchester Architects, Inc. (BSHM) of Youngstown, Ohio. The light-gray, metal-sided building features expansive windows to allow passers-by to see into galleries and dance studios.

The Center will serve as another economic generator for the City of Greensburg and the region. 茄子视频鈥檚 growing role in the economy of the city has led to economic development in the past decade that has been conservatively estimated at $130 million. This investment by 茄子视频 and other public and private entities includes the construction of 茄子视频鈥檚 Performing Arts Center in downtown Greensburg, the addition of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine on the 茄子视频 campus, improved student housing in Greensburg and the University鈥檚 investment in renovating the historic Welty House along with new restaurants, office buildings and other commercial ventures in Greensburg.
