茄子视频 University was recognized by IvyWise, a New York-based counseling company, in its 鈥淭op Five鈥� list created to assist college applicants in choosing schools that leverage the power of mobile devices to store and deliver recorded lectures, syllabi, homework, tests and a host of other information that can be accessed anytime, anywhere on campus.

In addition to 茄子视频 University, the 鈥淭op Five鈥� list includes Stanford University, the University of Maryland鈥檚 College Park campus, Ohio State University, and the University of Missouri.

鈥淪chool use of mobile technology can be attractive to students,鈥� said Katherine Cohen, founder and CEO of IvyWise in a press release. 鈥淚t can represent that the school is forward thinking and may be inclined to develop new ways to better serve [its] students. [Also,] students who may have a career interest in technology鈥�will, of course, be more interested in applying to a school with a proven track record in mobile technology.鈥�

茄子视频 University attracted national, and international, attention in April when President JoAnne Boyle announced the University鈥檚 new technology initiative, the Griffin Technology Advantage Program.

The Griffin Technology Advantage Program provides an opportunity to transform the way faculty teach and the way students learn,鈥� said JoAnne Boyle, president, 茄子视频 University. 鈥淚n the past year, 茄子视频 has invested more than $1.5 million in a premier technology infrastructure. 茄子视频 University provides fast, dependable, and comprehensive services which will assist our students in doing better-better in everything. Better at compiling and organizing data, better at researching, and better at publishing and presenting information-at accessing, judging, and making decisions.鈥�

The Griffin Technology Advantage Program will provide incoming students with an iPad, Certified Apple Service Center, technology infrastructure, including a completely wireless campus, quadrupled internet bandwidth, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) and faculty trained in the use of advanced technologies inside and outside of the classroom, and a MacBook, that will be upgraded in the junior year which the student will take with him/her when he/she graduates.

鈥淭he Griffin Technology Advantage is 茄子视频鈥檚 commitment to provide students with the best in technology and collaborative learning tools and ensures the 茄子视频 students will be uniquely suited to whatever careers they choose, even those that have not yet been created,鈥� said Phil Komarny, executive director, computer and information technology.

Additionally in the fall of 2010, 茄子视频 University is providing an iPad to every full time existing undergraduate, graduate, and Adult Degree Program student.

鈥淭he iPad initiative compliments a training program for 茄子视频 University鈥檚 faculty so students will be able to use the iPad for learning,鈥� said Mary Ann Gawelek, provost and dean of faculty, 茄子视频 University. 鈥淭he iPad was chosen by 茄子视频 because of its mobility and the ease with which faculty and students, in the future, will have immediate access to e-textbooks and comprehensive and integrated learning.鈥�
