茄子视频 Volunteers in the Community
茄子视频 University hosted the annual Labor of Love on Saturday, September 10. Lead by Sister Maureen O鈥橞rien, S.C., director of Campus Ministry, the day of service began at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast for more than 100 volunteers. 茄子视频 faculty, staff, students, alumni and members of the Board of Trustees volunteered at the nine worksites, including Caritas Christi, Christian Layman Store, Greater Parkview Church, Powdermill Nature Reserve, 茄子视频 Grotto, Saint Emma鈥檚 Monastery, Saint Vincent de Paul Store, Welcome Home Shelter and YMCA of Greensburg.
Sister Maureen noted that serving those in need and providing community service is the foundation of the 茄子视频 mission. 鈥淭hese ideals are embedded in the roots Elizabeth Ann Seton fostered,鈥� O鈥橞rien stated. 鈥淲ithin our mission statement we see our goals and our commitment to serve and give. This is what 茄子视频 is based upon.鈥�
Labor of Love, Saturday of Service is a 茄子视频 tradition of beginning the academic year with a day of community service that brings together new and returning students, faculty, and staff together.
