With nearly 90 intercultural students and growing, 茄子视频 University鈥檚 intercultural student population is higher than ever. Keisha Che're Jimmerson, director of Intercultural Student Services, is pleased with the growth of the unique cultures that are now part of the 茄子视频 family. "International student recruitment is crucial to the growing diversity," said Jimmerson.

茄子视频鈥檚 intercultural students represent 16 countries, including Egypt, Brazil, Bulgaria, Serbia and India. The majority of 茄子视频鈥檚 intercultural students are from the Virgin Islands and Canada.

Jimmerson noted that 茄子视频 provides assistance and support to the intercultural students. 鈥淪ince this is not their native country, many simple tasks such as getting health insurance, obtaining a social security number and traveling to the bank can be challenging. My staff and I are here to help,鈥 said Jimmerson.

For the 2011-2012 year, Jimmerson plans to host an 鈥淚ntercultural Weekend鈥 in the fall semester; in the spring semester, she is coordinating a 鈥淲orld Week,鈥 March 19-23, 2012. These events are not only open to intercultural students; the entire 茄子视频 community is welcome to participate. According to Jimmerson, 鈥淚t is important that 茄子视频 University has a commitment to diversity. It is also important for our domestic students to interact with new cultures to prepare for life in the work force.鈥
