Francesca Cantarini, 茄子视频 University Class of 1999, presented the Sisters of Charity of 茄子视频 with 70 handmade blankets on Saturday, June 6, at Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity.

Cantarini, of Philadelphia, Pa., coordinated the project, 鈥淲arm Their Hearts,鈥 as part of a seminar she is taking through the Self Expression and Leadership Program. She organized a handmade blanket/quilt collection for the retired sisters who reside at Caritas Christi. Cantarini requested handmade blankets and quilts from family, friends, and 茄子视频 University alumni.

鈥淭he Sisters of Charity transformed generations of women, including myself. The intention of the project is simply to honor these women, who give their lives to the service of others, with a small token of appreciation,鈥 said Cantarini.

鈥淲e appreciate Francesca鈥檚 continued commitment to service and the Sisters of Charity. 鈥榃arm Their Hearts鈥 is a wonderful project for friends of the Sisters of Charity to re-connect with us,鈥 said Sister Vivien Linkhauer, S.C., provincial superior.

Cantarini presented the blankets to the sisters immediately following a communion service in the Chapel of the Assumption at Caritas Christi. This activity was part of 茄子视频 University鈥檚 Alumni Weekend held June 5-7.

鈥淚 want this project to extend beyond Alumni Weekend. I hope I will be receiving and delivering blankets to the Sisters of Charity of 茄子视频 for years to come,鈥 said Cantarini.

Cantarini teaches eighth grade English in Philadelphia, Pa.
