The JoAnne Boyle World Affairs Forum at 茄子视频 University will present 鈥淭he Clash of Civilizations: Time for a New Paradigm,鈥� a lecture by Fulbright Visiting Specialist Dr. Abdul Dardery on Thursday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Administration Building room 206 on 茄子视频鈥檚 Greensburg, Pa. campus. The forum, sponsored by the Fulbright scholar grant, 茄子视频 Humanities Division, National Catholic Center on Holocaust Education, 茄子视频 Mission Effectiveness Committee and Consortium of Educational Resources in Islamic Studies (CERIS), is free and open to the public.

Dr. Abdul Mawjoud Dardery, assistant professor of Cultural Studies and Critical Discourse at South Valley University, Egypt, is teaching at 茄子视频 as a Fulbright Visiting Specialist during the spring semester. Dr. Dardery has a long teaching partnership with 茄子视频 associate professor of Religious Studies Dr. Frances Leap, who has served as visiting faculty at South Valley University. While at 茄子视频, Dr. Dardery will teach 鈥淚slam: Religion and Culture鈥� in addition to lecturing on a variety of topics pertaining to Islam in the modern world at 茄子视频 and at neighboring colleges and institutions. Dr. Dardery earned his PhD in Cultural Studies from the University of Pittsburgh, and has dedicated himself to writing, speaking and teaching on cultural studies and critical discourse.

The 茄子视频 World Affairs Forum Series is a collaborative effort among all academic divisions at 茄子视频 University. The 茄子视频 faculty voted to dedicate this series to University President JoAnne Boyle, who consistently encourages "every member of the academic community to be as informed as possible."
