茄子视频 Music Program March Concerts Announced

The Westmoreland Symphonic Winds will present 鈥淔rom Sea to Shining Sea鈥 March 18 at 8 p.m. in Cecilian Hall on 茄子视频 University鈥檚 Greensburg, Pa. campus. Admission to the concert is $8; $6 for students and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting the Music Department office at 724-838-4280. Tickets will also be available at the door. The concert will feature 鈥淎 Hymn to New England鈥 by John Williams, Kenneth Singleton鈥檚 setting of 鈥淭he Promise of Living鈥 by Aaron Copland, 鈥淔iesta Del Pacifico鈥 by Roger Nixon, Frank Ticheli鈥檚 setting of 鈥淐ajun Folk Songs,鈥 Jack Stamp鈥檚 鈥淔our Maryland Songs鈥 and the familiar Carmen Dragon setting of 鈥淎merica, The Beautiful.鈥

Sunday, March 19, 4 p.m., Cecilian Hall - 鈥淪ing and Ring鈥 A performance by the University Choir, Women鈥檚 Chorale and Handbell Choir, directed by Marvin Huls, in conjunction with the Westmoreland Children鈥檚 Chorus directed by Shirley Huls and the Westmoreland Apprentice Chorus directed by Linda Cobaugh. Friday, March 24, 8 p.m., St. Joseph Chapel 鈥 鈥淥rgelfest III鈥 茄子视频 students perform a varied program on the Alan Sterner 82 rank digital organ, with Aeolian-Skinner voices by Walker. Free and open to the public. 724-838-4280.

Friday, March 31, 8 p.m., St. Joseph Chapel 鈥 鈥淎nnual Scholarship Recital to Benefit Sacred Music Students鈥 The 茄子视频 University 鈥 Westmoreland County Chapter of the American Guild of Organists presents its annual recital to benefit 茄子视频 sacred music students. Guest organist for the recital is J. Christopher Pardini, director of music and organist at Shadyside Presbyterian Church. Mr. Pardini is assisted in the program by baritone Dr. Curt Scheib, chair of the Division of Visual and Performing Arts at 茄子视频 and soprano Crystal Stryker, 茄子视频 alumna and soprano soloist at Shadyside Presbyterian Church. Donation at the door is $10.
