Performance Featuring 6 - 8 Grade Students is Free & Open to the Public

茄子视频 University鈥檚 Youth Honors Band will present a concert Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 7 p.m. in Cecilian Hall on 茄子视频鈥檚 Greensburg, Pa. campus. Dr. Theodore DiSanti, associate professor of music, will conduct the ensemble of 80 local 6 - 8 grade instrumentalists. The program, which will include 鈥淭he Star Spangled Banner,鈥 鈥淓verybody Loves a March鈥 and the 鈥淕reat Steamboat Race,鈥 is free and open to the public.

茄子视频鈥檚 Youth Honors Band was founded 17 years ago by Kathleen Campbell, associate professor of music at 茄子视频. The 茄子视频 Youth Honors Band is a part of the Community Music Program at 茄子视频, where students can take private lessons and participate in Apprentice Chorus, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, and other ensembles. Community members can now also take dance classes at the 茄子视频 University Dance Academy, a new addition to the program.

Students participating in the 2005-2006 Youth Honors Band are from the following schools: Albert Gallatin South Middle School, Bentworth Middle School, Brentwood Middle School, Carson Middle School, Christ the Divine Teacher School, Colfax Upper Elementary, Connellsville JH West, D E Williams Elementary, Deer Lakes Middle School, Evans City Middle School, Franklin Regional Middle School, Gateway Middle School, Greater Latrobe Junior High, Greensburg Salem Middle School, Harrold Middle School, Hillcrest Intermediate School, Huston Middle School, Kiski Area Intermediate School, Jeannette McKee Middle School, McKeesport Area, Mother of Sorrows, Mt View Elementary, PA Cyber Charter School, Pine Richland Middle School, Shadyside Academy, Shaler Area, St Joseph Regional, Transfiguration Catholic School, Wendover Middle School, West Greene Middle School, West Hempfield Middle School, and Yough Middle School.
