鈥淎ngel Investing鈥 Topic of Business Lecture at 茄子视频 10/17

茄子视频 University鈥檚 Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunities will present a free public lecture on 鈥淎ngel Investing鈥 by Catherine Mott and Yvonne Campos, on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 6 p.m. The event will be held in Cecilian Hall on the Second Floor of 茄子视频鈥檚 Administration Building. Catherine Mott, founder and CEO of BlueTree Capital Group and BlueTree Allied Angels, will present 鈥淎ngel Investing 101: An Introduction to Angel Investing.鈥 Yvonne Campos, founder of Campos Market Research and founder and CEO of Next Act Fund, Inc. will present 鈥淲omen in Angel Investing: What鈥檚 Happening and Why?鈥澛

Angel Investors are successful business people who invest their own personal funds into a potentially rewarding business opportunity.

Catherine Mott is the past Chairman of the Angel Capital Education Foundation, an organization that researches angel capital, tracks angel capital, and provides education to bring professionalism and ethics to the industry.聽 聽In July 2010, she was named Chairman of the Board of the Angel Capital Association, the professional trade association for Angel Networks and Angel Funds in the U.S.聽 In September 2011, Catherine was one of 21 individuals selected for the SEC Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies.

Previously, Catherine had founded Synergetic Sales Performance Group, and Indigo Capital Development, LLC.聽 In 2002, she was recognized as one of Pennsylvania鈥檚 50 Best Women in Business.

Prior to forming her own businesses, Catherine worked 17 years in corporate banking management where she served in senior management roles. Today, she uses these experiences and her education to bring together capital and prime investment opportunities.

Yvonne Campos started the Next Act Fund to counter the fact that 99 percent of venture capitalists and 86 percent of angel investors are male. The Next Act Fund is by women and for women - and it invests in opportunities that others sometimes don鈥檛 see.聽

Before the Next Act Fund, Yvonne founded the market research and strategy firm Campos Inc., which became the premier research company in the Pittsburgh market by introducing new and innovative research techniques and consumer trend analysis. She successfully ran Campos Inc. for 30 years.

She is the founder of two Pittsburgh chapters of the Women Presidents鈥 Organization, a peer-to-peer learning model for women-owned businesses with revenues over $1 million dollars. Yvonne is a very active member of the Pittsburgh business community; she has been recognized locally, regionally and nationally for her entrepreneurship and community involvement.

The Farrell Lecture Series is sponsored by the 茄子视频 University Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunities. The Wukich Center equips students with the entrepreneurial skills needed to address the challenges of an evolving global market 鈥 whether a student鈥檚 career path includes running his or her own business or serving as a leader within an existing one. The Wukich Center supports entrepreneurship through the creation of the Wukich聽Scholars and Wukich Interns Programs; through the initiation of The Wukich Venture Fund; and through collaborative efforts with community organizations. The Wukich Center also offers programs for the community, including business counseling, business plan creation and business education workshops.
